Conceito

Conceito

Conceito is one of my favorite PC concepts from this year’s NextGen PC Design Competition. Why? Because it shows how the digital video paint brush from one of my previous articles can be transformed In something more complex, with an extraordinary design, a PC that allows you to do magic things like drawing with the real image of the nature’s components.

For example, the digital video paint brush looks like a normal brush but it integrates a video camera, touch sensors and LEDs, with which it captures the image you choose to draw it on a large display.
Conceito is something more sophisticated, consisting of a 40 X 70 cm flexible LCD screen with translucent capability, a digital pen with color sensing mechanism, and a digital color palette from which you can choose the color for your pen.

Imagine you are in your garden and you are amazed by the beauty of the nature around you in a beautiful spring morning.
You want to paint what you see but maybe you are not an artist, so you get your Conceito PC and set its display on the translucent mode.
Now you can see on it everything that is behind and you begin to paint it.
Your friend is a true artist, knows how to paint and doesn’t need its Conceito display to be transparent, and so he will use the slim digital pen to select colors from leafs and flowers to draw something natural.

Conceito

Of course, it has nothing in common with the real painting art, but it is very simulative for drawing inspiration, and a great tool for comic and graphic artists.

Other things you could use Conceito for include measuring the objects’ dimensions with the digital pen, draw portraits on the screen and then upload your creations to the CPU after plugging the display for auto-synchronization.

Conceito

About the ecological aspect I can tell you that this concept’s flexible display doesn’t require a power source and using this approach saves many natural resources such as wood for paper.
