The Puma is similar to the Intel's product concerning the energy efficiency. amd chip

AMD has mainly concentrated on desktop systems where  it  has seen considerable success. To take over Intel the company will start this process with Puma and continue it  with Fusion, a chip that integrates graphics onto the core, by 2009.

Among the Puma's feature we can find a functionality that allows for power conservation and longer battery life. Other features within the chip allow for unused portions to 'sleep' while others are busy.
Along with its increased performance and power efficiency Puma represents AMD's first explicitly mobile platform.
