Usually, when you have in mind a project, you would like to sketch it, so you can also have a visual projection too. When thinking about a website, you would like to plan it as much as possible in detail, because knowing very well what you want to have is a good beginning. Most of the web designers use pencils and paper for sketching their ideas, but a much easier method is to use a digital tool. The comfort and the features offered by the digital environment will make you fall in love with software applications which allow you to create prototypes and wireframes.

One of the best software applications of this kind is FlairBuilder, which was designed as a cross-platform tool for capturing ideas and concepts. This software application offers you flexibility and professionalism, both integrated in an user-friendly interface. If you have a project (website) with few pages, it's easy to use pencils and paper, or other unprofessional tools, but when you have a complex idea, FlairBuilder gives you a very good freedom of expression.

Your project's structure will be defined in a logical manner if you use FlairBuilder, because it allows you organizing the pages in folders, and you can easily keep track of pages. You realize how flexible and easy to use is this software, when you see how easily you can modify, update and organize the pages and the folders. Renaming and editing an element is as easy as double clicking it!
flairbuilder

FlairBuilder is the digital projection of a webdesigner's toolkit, in a modern form. The paper is replaced by the workspace, which can be customized according to your needs, and the pencils come in a the shape of widgets, of course, in a huge variety. The best aspect about the widgets is that they are looking the same as the real elements used in webdesign. If you are thinking to place "there" some radio buttons, the plan you will make with FlairBuilder is the closest version to reality, because the radio buttons have the same size, shape and color as the real radio buttons you would use when designing the website.

If you would like to use the "masters" concept, just like in Office PowerPoint, you are free to do this with FlairBuilder, and this is great, because you don't have to redesign the layout in all pages. You can add any kind of element available and you can test its functionality in preview mode. It's very easy to switch between the design and preview mode, and this is another advantage of the application.

Drag and drop is the best feature of this software application, and taking into account that all elements can be placed and moved using this feature this means great functionality and ease in use. When you want to edit an element's properties, you just have to double click it, and you can edit anything you want.
flair3

The bad aspect about this software is that there is no print function implemented, but every bad aspect has a good part, and the good part in this case is that you can export the pages you have created in various formats and then print them.

All project sketches created with FlairBuilder are as close as possible with the concepts you want to create, due to the realistic aspect and functionality of the widgets available, so you can actually see in the planning stage how your project will behave. Moreover, in the future, the developer will implement the HTML export feature too, and the planning stage will offer you a more realistic view on your project.

When Netbooks first appeared on the market, almost one year ago, they came with open source Linux OS. Microsoft took position on this, and lowered the fee for Windows XP license, to that they could dominate the Netbook operating system market.

Barcode Scanner software for Google Product Search

The Google Product Search for mobile devices was launched a couple of weeks ago and we told you all about it, just in time for you to be among the first to enjoy it. I don’t have at my disposal information concerning the number of people how have used the Google Product Search since that certain moment to the present, but I’m sure it was a success, just like the guys over Google thought it would be.

And just like they said right from the beginning, the team who developed it has made efforts in order to improve it. And the Barcode Scanner software is the living proof. Since the day it was released, they have used the Google Product Search on Android-based devices in order to do usual stuff like checking prices, reviews or all sorts of product details.

Considering that many people are many times more interested in a specific item rather than in an entire category of products, they came up with another feature: they decided to introduce a barcode scanner software.

The first thing one should do is to go to the homepage of the Google Product Search for mobile. If you don’t remember how to do this, let me refresh your memory: go to Google, then select the “Shopping” button which you can find in the tab called “more”. Then, you’ll be able to see the “Scan Barcode” button which will give you the chance to install the application.

Once the application is installed, you should repeat the process: click on the Product Search then on the Scan Barcode. And here we go: “Select ‘Use by default for this action” and tap on the Barcode Scanner option. After the app opens, center the red line over the barcode and hold the phone steady. When the barcode is read successfully, you’ll see a Google Product Search results page back in the browser”.

The barcode scanning is focused for the moment on a small variety of products including books, electronics, movies and video games, but don’t worry! There will be much more items to be included in the list. You have access to the Barcode Scanner right now if you’re from the United States or the United Kingdom.

What is BlackBerry technology?

what-is-blackberry-technology-03s
The question might sound a little bit silly, because people are very interested in the mobile phones world and they’re always informed on the latest innovations that appear just like mushrooms after the rain. But I’m sure there are still many people out there who don’t know very well what’s with the Blackberry device and what “tricks” one can do with it. Therefore, for those who are already familiar with the device, have a little patience! Reading something that one already knows very well never hurt anyone, as far as I know. And for those who aren’t “connoisseurs”, prepare yoursleves to become one!

So, you should know right from the start that the BlackBerry is a wireless handheld device that was introduced to the large public back in 1999, when it was nothing but a two-way pager. It was in 2002 when the the famous BlackBerry smartphone was released. This one came in a totally different form, as it was designed to support all sorts of features such as mobile telephone, push e-mail, text messaging, internet faxing, web browsing, as well as all sorts of wireless information services and a multi-touch interface.

Now, who came up with the idea of developing such a device? The company is called Research in Motion (also known as RIM), which is a Canada-based company, with the headquarter in Waterloo, Ontario.

When it first appeared, the handheld was focused on the e-mail feature. Research in Motion decided to offer the BlackBerry e-mail service to more devices than just the BlackBerry ones, which means that it was expanded to non-BlackBerry handhelds, like the Palm Treo. The BlackBerry Connect is the software that allows something like this to happen.

The devices come with PDA applications, including the address book, the calendar, notes, alarm clock, calculator and the to-do lists, but it also features telephone capabilities on the recent models. However, the BlackBerry is very well known worldwide for the fact that it allows users to send and receive e-mail as long as they have access to a wireless network. There are also the QWERTY keyboard, a scroll ball, placed in the middle, and the Push-to-Talk feature (the latter can be found on some models, only).

Now let’s see what’s the thing with the operating system that you can find on the BlackBerry. Especially developed by RIM for the BlackBerry, the proprietary multi-tasking operating system comes with support for Java MIDP 1.0 and WAP 1.2. The processor suffered some changes, evolving from the Intel-80366 to Intel XScale 624MHz Cpu, available on the latest BlackBerry 9000 series, which is, precisely because of the use of this CPU, the fastest ever built.

To better understand to what extent the BlackBerry is spread in the whole world, let me tell you that at the end on last year (on December 18th 2008, to be more precise) Research in Motion made an announcement that amazed everyone: there are approximately 21 million BlackBerry subscribers. Can I say “Oh my God!”? Can I, can I?

I’m not sure how many of us would have expected such thing to happen, but it seems that in the near future (nearer than you’re able to imagine) the Apple iPhone operating system will be updated. To be more precise, the announcement concerns the iPhone OS 3.0 that is said to be coming in the next couple of days.

You should all set your clocks and mark the holy day, ‘cause this is one hell of a piece of news. The event, if I may call it this way, is going to take place on March 17th. There are no details about the operating system for the moment, but we’re looking forward to hearing about the 3.0 version during a press event which is to be held at 1 PM EST.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

What’s best is that we will also have the chance to cast a glance at the newest version of the SDK (software development kit, for those who don’t know), which means not only iPhone addicts will have a great time, but developers also.

“Join us at an invitation-only event to learn about the new SDK and get a sneak peak at the iPhone OS 3.0 software. The event takes place at Apple, Building 4, Town Hall on March 17 at 10:00 a.m.”.

We’re all anxious to know what Apple has prepared, because we know that it must be something impressive. It must be!
