This article is all about cool awesome gadgets which we came across and would like to share with you. How does a Black Box that cleans your hand and feet sound like? This special (and ugly) black box uses plasma gas and some other plasma ingredient which is normally used to sterilize the medical instruments. This little gizmo can sanitize one of your hands is almost 5 seconds. This gadget is most common for institutions like hospitals or hotels, spas and other beauty salons.

One of the cool awesome gadgets for men which we simply HAD to mention in this article is the Heineken Robot that serves beer. This little thingy is going to be the life of all your up-coming parties. This robot will come to anyone that waves his or her hand. When the robot has “received your order”, the tap will start to glow. When the tap starts glowing, you have to put your glass underneath so the golden liquid can start pouring. One peculiar thing is how this robot knows when the cup is filled as there are no specifications that the cup needs to have a certain size. I wonder if this robot (which we later found out that is still in the conceptual stage) could replace bartenders. Could you imagine a robot error that starts filling the bar with beer everywhere?

If someone gave me $410 right now, I would definitely order this Desktop Teeth Whitening Lamp. I mean, I do sit around the laptop all day so why not take advantage of this and to a tooth whitening treatment? It’s a great idea especially for smokers, coffee drinkers and anyone who has yellow teeth in general. I’m not sure how much a whitening treatment costs at a dentist or specialized salon but the prices are spicy so why not pay the $410 at once and get a whitening treatment whenever you want and in the comfort of your own home. You don’t even need to make any free time to do this treatment as you can do it while you are working on the computer. The strong blue light will activate the whitening gel and this gel oxidizes the teeth pigment using denting tubes. The process will take about 30 minutes. This whitening treatment is definitely way better than the tradition whitening toothpaste or other gels and products that you have to apply on your teeth daily.


The last item on this cool awesome gadgets list is the Wireless Car Sticker. This sticker will start to glow whenever it detects a wireless signal but you have some work to do on your own. You will need and USB car adapter and some stick tape to get things going. You can put it anywhere you like in the car, even on the back so the cars behind you can see when they are in a wireless signal zone. It’s ideal for when you want to go to a coffee shop that has a wireless hotspot and don’t want to get out of the car all the time and ask to see if that bar has wireless signal.

One really cool way of spending a rainy Sunday afternoon at home is doing some fun computer activities. One thing I like to do when I have access to the internet (and no work to do) is to check out some cool tests which are available online. Tests can be different: from IQ tests, love tests, personality tests and even compatibility tests.

For example, one cool test that establishes what your IQ level is, can be found on www.iqtest.com. The website will display a list of 38 questions which can be answered with TRUE or FALSE and it is recommended that you try to answer them without using a pen and paper for any kind of calculus. Another website for IQ tests is www.intelligencetest.com, a much more complex site that the one mentioned before. This website has different other tabs, like memory games, facts and trivia, polls, articles, quotes, puzzles, links and even a newsletter. You can even take short tests (about 10 minutes) and you receive your results on the spot. One of my favorite IQ tests can be found on www.mensa-test.com. Try it out and see why I find it to be cool.

Another type of cool tests are the ones that reveal certain aspects of your personality and they are called… personality tests. You can find them on different websites like www.similarminds.com or www.humanmetrics.com. Personality tests were generally developed by well knows physiologists but you will also find funny test developed by people that have nothing to do with this field. On www.humanmetrics.com you will find the Jung personality test which is a set of 72 affirmations like “You believe the best decision is one that can be easily changed”  or “You tend to rely on your experience rather than on theoretical alternatives” which have to be answered with YES or NO depending if they fit to your own living habits.



www.lovequiztest.com says it all just by reading the name of the website. This site has some funny tabs with different cool and funny tests like the 7 deadly sins tests, the emo test, free career test, heart color test, celebrity test, eye test and other information like you personal horoscope, love stories, love quotes and daily health tips. The results of these tests are not to be taken too seriously as they are just for fun. I took the 7 deadly sins test and I can assure you “wrath” is not my biggest problem.



www.cooltest.com is out last website for the day. What I really like about this one is that it gathers all sorts of tests. You can even try an online typing test to see the speed and accuracy of your computer typing. Other tests are memory tests, aptitude tests, stress tests, GED tests, depression tests and even career aptitude tests. Boy, these tests sure are a lot of fun. I find it funny to read certain things about myself even if these tests are not always professional and accurate. They are still a good way to spend the afternoon when I’m trapped inside my house.

We use them every day. They are small. They are cheap. They can also be expensive. They are black, white, gray, hot pink, lime, red and many more. They are big. They are small. They are thick. They are heavy. The can be light, with an antenna, with a touch screen, you can surf the internet, take pictures, listen to music and even watch movies with them.

Cell phones are definitely one thing which we can’t live without. But even if we use them all the time… what is it that we really know about cell phones? How many f you have the slightest idea who invented the cell phone and when it was invented? Sure, we know how to use their features, but do we know what’s inside? A cell phone is really amazing when you think about the ways in which it has evolved from its initial form, to what it has become today.



If you even wondered who invented the cell phone, I have to tell you that the main concept goes a long way back. Douglas Ring and Rae Young were a couple of engineers working at Bell Labs back in 1947 when, after different propositions that were launched and different ideas about hexagon towers and directional antennas. Due to the lack of some resourced, the cell phone remained only at the conceptual stage until 1960. At first, the mobile phone was designed especially for vehicles and Prince Phillip from the UK was the first person to own one back in 1957 in his Aston Martin. The first automatic cell phone system was set up by Ericsson and it was released on the Swedish market in 1956. Too bad the weight of the prone was 40 kg.

Leonid Kupriyanovich was a Soviet radio engineer that designed the first portable mobile phone. It was an improvement alright: the weight dropped from 40 kg to only 3 kg.  In 1958, the “radiophone” as Kupriyanovich liked to call it was already a light-weighted gadget, as it was as light as 500g. And things have been constantly evolving, in 1959, the S&T Telephone company from Kansas used some of Motorola’s Radio Telephone equipment to offer local services to the people in the Kansas area. This was not the end. The cell phones passes though other several stages and decades until it became what it is today, a gadgets used for keeping in touch in every possible way. Even if AT&T submitter the cellular service proposal, it was not approved until 1982.


Back then, those were the zero generation mobile phones (0G) which have evolved to the 3G’s that we have today. From 40 kg to 100 grams, cell phones are now indispensable in our lives and personally I could not imagine one day without my phone. When they first appeared, cell phones were a luxury and only the business men could afford to buy them. Now the number of people that don’t own a cell phone is dropping constantly as the need for communication has increased considerably and phones are now a must have for everyone.

Text is also called written language and it is a writing system that represents language .  We learn how to write from the first grade at school. Through text we can communicate in another way. Though we instinctually learn how to speak, how to write must be taught. Text changes more often than spoken language . Diglossia is called the situation that is caused by divergent between spoken language and language.  Native writers and readers of English language  are not aware of the complexities of the spelling and its artificial construct .

Plain text is used in computing and refers to a readable text. ISO/IEC 646, ASCII AND EBCDIC are the encodes used. ASCII is replaced by Unicode which allows more important punctuation and symbols such as multiplication, mathematical relations. The plain text can be edited, open and read by edit (DOS), notepad (Windows), nano (Unix, Linux), Text Edit (Mac Os X) and Simple Text (Mac OS).It can be read by other programmes, too. Simple computer tool are used : cat (Unix), type (Windows and Dos) .

ASCII used 8 bits for one letter, this wasn’t pleasant for the computer users , especially Swedish and  Portuguese which saw that just the ordinary Latin alphabet was allowed. Now, Unicode allows 1,114,112 code values that make even the most complicated process, correct.

Displayable characters are control characters and are used to interpret meanings. The notion of text appeared later than the notion of writing. At first, text wasn’t used to transmit messages but  was a method of transactions and accounting.

Houghton Mifflin, McGraw-Hill, Cengage Learning and Person Edication were published in January 2009 in United States of America.

The higher education of America is changing due to the technological advances. Students have more access to the digital materials  such as PDF books, video lectures and online tutoring. Textbooks are expensive products  because of the lack of competition on the marketv.



In this way, students are likely to use used textbooks which are cheaper. This books can be located through the internet .

While reading a text, a question comes in our minds ,,How can decide what a text means?’’ It is the speaker or the writer, it is the text itself or the reader? A text means what the author made it mean or what the reader understands from it? Let’s not forget the linguistic elements of the text: lexical relations, semantic roles, sentences and words .

Computational methods had developed through the years for sentiment analysis. They are interest to know what is the consumer’s opinion about different products. In the future we can expect to find implicitly and sentiment without a topic. Repetitions don’t look good in a text. Any kind of text will give us information which we will proceed an after that we will have an opinion of our own .



Information has an important role in our lives. We can find documents, recordings that all have something in common – text. Having access to a greater amount of information, children will learn quicker how to read and write from informational texts. This texts are recommended even from kindergarten. Children who read become more accomplished readers. Higher reading achievement  is seen by reading different genres not only stories .

This is a study that shows the recall and behaviour. A narrative text is given to readers of all ages and after they had to prepare for verbatim recall. As it was expected , many of the subjects recalled the important things not the unimportant. But the behaviour was different : adult would underline the text while children took notes .

We must have useful features in order to classify text documents. By using the text summarizing technique, we measure the importance of sentences and thus we notice that the important features lye in the important sentences .



A survey showed that 26.000 people , half of them being adult have problems in synthesizing and integrating information. To make text more readable, short sentences and familiar words are used .

Videos are another way of communicating but although we now have many TV channels, internet access text will always remain relevant and continuing  to live .

A gun is a firing projectile that is actually a weapon. There are many kinds of guns such as firearms or small guns like pistols or rifles. The generic term ,,gun’’ was used to name artillery tubes and sea-based naval cannon. This weapon has a tubular barrel and a hollow. The directing of the projectile is made by the tubular barrel. The term ,,gun’ is also referring to grease gun , glue gun, staple gun, nail gun. Guns are divided by the means of firing, by the type of barrel, the caliber and the purpose of the weapon. Rifled is a type of barrel which has angles in it and spiraled grooves. You can  identify guns variations  by the projectile size and barrel diameter. The bullet has an explosive shell. Explosive liquid, explosive solid or even air may be the propellant. The word ,,cannon’’ replaces the ford ,,gun’’ and it is a word that come from the French language. Back in time, firing a gun was seen as black art because of the sulfur smell and flash.

In military use, guns were called the weapons that fired directly. The word cannon doesn’t refer to the weapon system but to the actual gun tube and the name gunner is used for members that fire the gun. As the name implies, autocannons are automatic guns that are mounted on a vehicle and fire shells. Machine guns are almost the same .Gun type fission weapon is a nuclear weapon  while captive bolt gun is used to slaughter animals. For hunting, shotguns are normally used.

When you handle firearms, you have to know the recommendations and rules that can be applied, in order the risks to be minimized or eliminated. Risks such as injury or unintentional death can be caused by handling the firearms  not in  an improper way. Firearms are dangerous and they have to be handled with care. You should take the finger off the trigger and point the weapon at the ground. The best way to be safe is to think that your gun is always loaded, in this way you will be more careful with it.

Here are some other ways in which guns can be detrimental to bystanders or handlers: the noise is one of them. I’ sure you have all seen in movies when actors are learning how to shoot, they have headsets. Tinnitus is a permanent or temporary hearing damage so in order to prevent this you have to use hearing protection.



A gun emits powder and gases that can do harm. The toxic effects are now diminished. The risk of exposure is also diminished if you wash your hand properly after you use a gun , clean and ventilate the space. Although are made to function well, malfunction can also happen.:  hang-fires -delayed discharge., duds- failures to discharge and squibs- insufficient discharge. ,,Jam’’ refers to mechanical malfunctions and include eject or extract a cartridge, failure to fully cycle after firing.

People always made a connections between guns and violence. But guns are not always bad. You can defend yourself with a gun if you feel you are in danger. This is a legal act but if you use guns to harm someone it’s illegal.

-Pistole Parabellum 1908 also called Luger. In both War Wars this gun was used by Germans. After that,  they were collected as trophies.

-Walther PR and PPK is a semi-automatic double action gun and the first one was released in 1929.

-Colt M1911 has a successful design used by United States Army. Now you can still see it in video games and movies.

-Glock Pistol was created in 1982 and it is a semi-automatic gun. It is the gun that became ideal for FBI, police.

-  Colt Python is one of the most popular revolver.

-CZ75 was created by Czech and made of high quality steel.

-you can still find Mause C96 which is made even today.

Here are some benefits of cool guns: when  someone kills another one just to save the victims, several lives are spared.These  aspects demonstrates that there are more aggravated assault, rapes and less murders. Children are more likely to die from accidents, burn or drowning than from gun accidents.



The person who will be held responsible is, of course, the one who was behind the trigger. People should take responsibility for their actions so if they want to have a gun they also have to make a liability insurance, they will cover the loses in case they harm someone with the gun.

The bad part is that 5 percent of home homicide are committed with the gun that was held in the house. Even know we can’t still decide whether is a good or bad thing to own a gun. Although it is appealing to me the idea of a world without guns, the number of people who want guns is increasing. We can’t decide and in fact we don’t have to decide if it’s a bad or a good think to have a  gun. We just have to think under what conditions someone could own a gun. The question is ,,do we really have the right to own guns?’’ Many think that we have not only the moral right  but also the Constitutional one in order to own a gun. If they are correct that is left for us to judge. Meanwhile, we have to live with guns around us, and that’s a fact.
