Pink is the new black and it is wide spread in a lot of design sectors, from clothing and accessories to technology: laptops, mobile phones and cars. Special people want their personality to be reflected by the things they own and pink is one of the craziest and most discussed color of all. This color is little girls' preferred color, and you can see that there are thousands of products for little girls. They like to have pink clothes, pink accessories, pink room design, and sometimes this pink trend follows them as they grow up, and they become the crazy sales girl with the pink laptop and moreover, she also has a pink mini car.

Actually pink is a softer version of red, and it can be called the sweet side of red. It is the color of candies, of bubble gum and it psychology it is associated with the weaker sex, with sensibility and emotion. While red is the color of passion and strong feelings, pink comes and brings us the soft version, the candid version of love and other beautiful feelings. As I said, in some cultures, and especially in U.S, it represents little girls, it is the word for "sugar and spice and everything nice". Most of the people see pink as a delicate and feminine color, but there are more and more men wearing and owning pink items. Red&pink both denote love, but they do this differently: red represents hot and strong love, and pink shows the romantic side of love, the charm and all the dreams related to love.

This color has been used to suggest playfulness (pink flamingos in Disney movies) or tenderness (in pastel paintings). Even if you use more shades of pink and light purple or red, you will still suggest the delicate and playful nature of pink. The use of pink in language is also a source of characterizing people, and this aspect has a positive and a negative side too. There are some expressions: "in the pink", "tickled pink" which suggest health, happiness and satisfaction feeling and others like "pink collar" (it is often used in a derogatory manner to imply low person on the office hierarchy) or simply "pink", but used with the meaning of crazy, notch, zig zag.

The family of words related to pink includes the following words and all of them represent various shades of this color: salmon, coral, fuchsia, blush, flesh and rose. Pink gemstones promote love, protection from violence or aggression and they stimulate love and beauty in the rooms where they are positioned.

Pink is the right Feng Shui color which can bring a strong shift of energy into the environment you live or work in. Pink has delicate vibrations and it also has a soothing effect on people's behavior. This color is used very much in the Southwest area of one's space, because it is connected to Love&Marriage, and this color works perfect with the Fire element which represents the Southwest area.

The most common used shade of pink is "gentle pink" but there are items colored in magenta pink which have a certain role in the Feng Shui decoration of your house or office.  Pink and black combination is retro, and black is used to accentuate pink's beautiful vibrations. It creates a constant dialogue between the sobriety of black and pink's playfulness. Unfortunately, if you use too much pink in a room, you risk to create a floating effect and sooner or later you will start living in an illusory world. Something classic and simple like a sweater can be show stopper if it is pink. Shirts also can be an easy way to incorporate this color in your wardrobe. They can be worn with suits, under sweaters or even on their own with trousers and jeans. Suits and trousers look great on pink too, and I don't mean crazy pink suit, I am thinking about light cotton and seersucker suit. You can include pink in your life more than in clothes or room design aspects and extend this pink trend in the technology area and purchase some cool pink gadgets. If you have enough courage, you can expose yourself in a pink car or you can very well use a pink laptop.

We have been gazing at our reflection for thousands of years and along time a lot of mirror design trends are appeared, but none of the designs can be compared to the modern and futuristic models we have nowadays. Designers have never been more playful in exploring new ideas and concepts in mirror industry. These silvered glass panes have reflected our images so well, and sometimes too well are getting new faces every day. Police cars come in different shapes, sizes and colors, but they all have the same main purpose: uphold the law, and provide officers the perfect transportation mean, in order to keep cities in order.

Mini Smart Car is the best one for the crowded streets of Austria. This compact car can cut through corners easily and it has a top speed of 135 Km/hr. This little car is used in more countries in Europe and it is very efficient because it can easily sneak in crowded place, and it offers a good speed for following the thieves or other lawbreakers. It looks pretty funny, but when you see it in the rearview mirror it becomes scary.

Porche Carrera offers officers 325 horses and a top speed of 285 Km/hr. This is one of the fastest police cars, it is used in the same country as the MiniSmart, but it looks more sporty and it has a more elegant design. This car has a permanent place in Germany, at the Porche museum. It has an imposing design, and it can easily intimidate infractors.



The Dodge Charger is used in the U.S.A and it was first presented at the New York auto show in 2005. It is powered by a 425 hp engine which offers 233 Km/hr and it is used across 50 states; it can charge from 0 to 100 Km/hr in six seconds and it has a very sturdy and stable design. It looks very nice, and it helps police officers reach the fast and furious drivers which cross the speed limit.



Italy can be proud of these beasts patrolling on the freeways around Rome. This Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 has a 525 hp engine, a roaring one, which can zoom from 0 to 100 Km/hr in only 3.7 seconds. This car has been donated by the producer to the Italian authorities and apart from speed, this wonderful police car has some interesting additional features, like : automatic number plate recognition system, forward looking camera, and a trunk in front which can be used as a first-response medical platform. When needed, it can also transport organs, because it also has a refrigerated box, for high-speed transport in accidents or medical emergencies.



In London you can see police officers driving same Lamborghini cars, but a different model: Murcielago LP640. There are no more BMW 535d patrol cars since this type of cars have been purchased to keep London safe. This car is an Italian car, and it offers 6.5 Litre engine and four wheel drive, it can reach a 330 km/h and it can go from 0 to 100 Km/hr in 3.4 seconds. It looks good and I think it fits with the Londonese landscape, but also with Londonese lawbreakers.



Police cars in India are modest, and I think that the authorities use the officer's force more than the cars' power. This nice car is one of the police cars in India, and it has quite simple specifications, and nothing outrageous.



In Holland, police officers use this nice Spyker C8 Spider which has 406hp and a 300km/h (187 mph)  and goes from 0 to 100 Km/hr in 3.8 seconds.



A sheriff in Texas has a H2 Hummer, which provides him 700 hp with a 7.0 L engine. This is a powerful car, and I think it is very efficient and helps very easily the sheriff to reestablish order in this state.



In each country, there are used the cars the authorities considered perfect for their protection purposes, and they are also adapted to the level of criminality in those countries. There are also very well trained police officers, who can easily handle these cool cars. I don't wish anyone to look in the rearview mirror and see one of these powerful cars with the light and audio signals turned on to make him stop. As you can observe, the possibilities are different in various countries, but I think everyone is trying to offer the best for their police departments, because it is a very important aspect in the social life, and keeping it safe is a national interest matter.

Converse is a shoe company which has been manufacturing shoes since the beginning of the 20th century. Converse is an American company, and it was started by Marquis M. Converse in his late 30's. He was previously a manager at a footwear firm, and it all started when he opened the Boston Rubber Shoe Company in 1908. This company provided winter rubber soled footwear for all categories of clients: women, men and children.

In 1910 they were producing almost 4,000 pairs daily, and it 1915 they started manufacturing a new type of product: shoes for tennis. In 1917 they introduced Converse All-Star basketball shoes. Chuck Taylor, a basketball player complained about sore feet, but the situation changed, and he started working for the company. He was a salesman and in the same time, company's ambassador. HE was promoting Converse shoes in the United States and his signature was also added to the All Star collection.

During the WWII Converse started manufacturing footwear, apparel, boots and many other products for pilots and troops. Converse promoted a distinctly American image with the Yearbook. In 1970's Converse bought the trademark rights to Jack Purcell sneakers from Goodrich. With competitors' rise, Converse lost very much on the market, and the apparently monopoly they held started its decline since the 80's, when Puma and Adidas strongly appeared on the market. The continous loss of market share, and the poor business decisions taken by managers led to bankruptcy, and this happened in 2001. The factory in US was closed, but the products for the American Market were still manufactured in various countries like China, Indonesia, Italy, Lithuania and Vietnam.

In 2003, July, this company was purchased by the rival company Nike for $305 million. Along time, a lot of special editions have been released, like The Ramones, or the Sailor Jerry, The Control (brown and green edition), 1Hund(15% of the profits support HIV/AIDS relief) and there were hundreds of artists from the whole world who designed various collections.
