Guess which is the best camera phone of the moment?
You could say it’s LG Viewty with its 5MP picture resolution but no, I really have to disappoint you.
It’s the Nokia N82, as the Technical Image Press Association decided and gave it the Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe Award especially for its camera capabilities.
So now we may understand that not the number of megapixels defines the camera performance but just the capabilities.
The jurors from Europe's largest photo and imaging press association formed by 31 members from 12 countries explained their decision:
"The Nokia N82 is a compact multimedia computer that integrates GPS, web, video and music functions around a 5 Megapixel camera with a high-speed, f/2.8 autofocus lens. This Carl Zeiss Tessar focuses from 10cm to infinity and produces sharp prints up to and beyond A4 size. Several scene modes are also available to optimize the Nokia N82 for great images, whether shooting portraits or night shots. Other Nokia N82 features highlighted by the jurors are the Xenon flash and 20X digital zoom."
If you have a Nokia N82 cell phone with A-GPS and the 5MP camera, you can take picture and geotag them with location details so that at a later time to find it fast among all your hundreds of photos, on a map on the Internet or directly on the handheld.
Also, Nokia N82 allows you to upload your media consisting of pictures and video files on Ovi, Flick or YouTube using the Share service.
Other cool features of this multimedia computer include wireless LAN connectivity, HSDPA support for high-speed downloads, microSD card slot for up to 8GB of data, a 2.4-inch TFT display of 16 million colors, GPRS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, microUSB, Symbian operating system, Instant Messaging, email, motion sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo FM radio, TV out, Office document viewer, and a battery that lasts up to 4 hours and 20 minutes in talking mode.

There are several best camera phones. If TIPA awarded Nokia it doesn't mean that we all will consider it best but one of the best.

I just bought the new black Nokia N82 for under $500.00 and gave my sister my SE k790a. It dramaticly blows the SE ak790a way in picture quality and even more on video quality. Last week, I burned the video onto a DVD and it looked excellent compared to the Sony. TV out feature is great as well. Nokia should have put in US 3G, but I do not use the net much...The camera and video is what is important to me as I travel alot. After owning the SE W810 which was great for the time, then the K790a with the poor video quality, I find the N82 is what I was hoping 4...a unit that you can always carry and know you can take great pics and video when needed.
