Barcode Scanner software for Google Product Search
Posted by: Maria Mihale in Software, Websites

The Google Product Search for mobile devices was launched a couple of weeks ago and we told you all about it, just in time for you to be among the first to enjoy it. I don’t have at my disposal information concerning the number of people how have used the Google Product Search since that certain moment to the present, but I’m sure it was a success, just like the guys over Google thought it would be.

And just like they said right from the beginning, the team who developed it has made efforts in order to improve it. And the Barcode Scanner software is the living proof. Since the day it was released, they have used the Google Product Search on Android-based devices in order to do usual stuff like checking prices, reviews or all sorts of product details.
Considering that many people are many times more interested in a specific item rather than in an entire category of products, they came up with another feature: they decided to introduce a barcode scanner software.

The first thing one should do is to go to the homepage of the Google Product Search for mobile. If you don’t remember how to do this, let me refresh your memory: go to Google, then select the “Shopping†button which you can find in the tab called “moreâ€. Then, you’ll be able to see the “Scan Barcode†button which will give you the chance to install the application.
Once the application is installed, you should repeat the process: click on the Product Search then on the Scan Barcode. And here we go: “Select ‘Use by default for this action†and tap on the Barcode Scanner option. After the app opens, center the red line over the barcode and hold the phone steady. When the barcode is read successfully, you’ll see a Google Product Search results page back in the browserâ€.
The barcode scanning is focused for the moment on a small variety of products including books, electronics, movies and video games, but don’t worry! There will be much more items to be included in the list. You have access to the Barcode Scanner right now if you’re from the United States or the United Kingdom.
