Archos Mobile Internet Devices

Archos has recently launched its new lineup of PMPs, but the French company likes to call the Mobile Internet Devices (MID) rather than multimedia portable media players. The new MID series comes in two variants: Archos 5 and Archos 7.
The variants are pretty much the same except for storage capacities and display diagonal. Archos 5 features a five-inch touch screen display with a 800X480 resolution which should make your web experience similar to the one we get on our desktops And since it’s an Internet device, the new Archos series features a 3.5 G connection. According to the press release, the integrated web browser is Flash-compatible. The user interface seems to be similar to those found in the previous series, so we can rest assured everything’s working swell in this sense.
Archos 7 is in the same class of devices but comes with a 7” touchscreen and up to 320GB of storage, just in case the 800X480 resolution seems to small for the 5” display. The bigger display may also improve your experience with the user interface. Again, we see WiFi and 3.5G support, and the rest of the specs look to be the same. Check them out as well as the prices and availability on the official Archos site.
