Aiptek PocketCinema V10

Aiptek PocketCinema V10

I guess the Asians realized that large displays aren’t going to be such a good idea in the future. After all, not anyone can afford a 3 meter wide display that can support Super Hi-Vision resolutions. A good alternative comes in the form of projectors. For the moment, the best projectors easily support 1080p resolutions and come in pretty compact forms. With the hardware miniaturization process, it seems that, in the near future, projectors capable of Super Hi-Vision resolutions will be able to fit in pocket-sized cases.

Aiptek is among the first to show a projector the size of a small remote control at Computex 2008. The PocketCinema V10 mini projector features technology from 3M and is able to project a 50" image that should be perfect for the average user. Here are the other highlights for the PocketCinema V10:

• 1GB internal memory
• 3-in-1 memory card reader (SD/MMC/MS Pro)
• Support for JPEG ASF, AVI and MPEG-4 video formats
• Stereo speakers

Although this one looks impressively small, Aiptek didn’t care to mention anything about resolution, brightness and contrast ratio. Moreover, no one knows how long the battery can last. The projector will probably be available by the end of 2008.
