Sagem Communications and Freescale Semiconductor, a leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial, networking and wireless markets, came at CES 2008 with the Advanced Connected Digital Photoframe under the AgfaPhoto Brand.
The product is called AgfaPhoto AF5080W and works based on i.MX multimedia processors and Linux multimedia applications.
Looks like an ordinary digital photo frame with an 8-inch SVGA display and 800 x 600 pixels resolution, but it is more than that.

The advanced graphical user interface comes from the i.MX31 multimedia applications engine based on an ARM11 core running at 532MHz.
It is capable to process advanced image and video for an extraordinary viewing experience with several connectivity interfaces and 2D/3D graphics accelerator.
You can upload HD pictures, audio files and even videos with an USB cable, using the USB key, the Wi-Fi support or an SD card of up to 16GB.
The digital photo frame features video playback and music player, supporting the following file formats: MJPEG, MPEG4, H.264, MP3, AAC, and the rest of the most common file types.

With the wireless connection you can access picture-sharing websites or update the software for the frame.

"The ingenuity and fresh product designs of our customers never cease to amaze us, and Sagem's AF5080W digital photo frame is the latest example," declared Paul Marino, general manager of Freescale's Multimedia Applications Division. "Sagem's engineers capitalized on the broad range of multimedia and connectivity options delivered by our i.MX31 processor and the result is a truly remarkable product."
