ActiveSymbols offers the demo Version of the Eyealike Visual Search Facial Recognition Platform
Posted by: Sierra Monica B. in News

Soon, we will be able to search our friends over the social networking websites using their pictures.
ActiveSymbols has launched the facial recognition platform called Eyealike meant for image detection and video copyright surveillance.

The Eyealike Visual Search Platform is to be integrated into image intensive web sites and to be used for searching a large news photo database.
The demo version of the platform is now available here so anyone can test it for free.
The two sections included, Celeb Match and Dream Date, find and display the celebrities with which you are most alike or with which another celebrity resemble most.
If you want to check and see with who you look similar among the most popular starts you have to upload a clear picture of maximum 300K with your face and press Search.
As you can see from the picture I’ve tried to find all starts the look similar with the famous actress Ashley Judd, but unfortunately the engine is not perfect yet and so not all of the results are satisfying.
In present, ActiveSymbols is working on developing a more powerful algorithm to pass from images to the videos level.
The algorithm is set first to break faces into several elements and then to identify common features like eyes, nose, and mouth, and after that to gather data about the orientation and shape of the face, the skin tone, and the color and texture of the hair, the most difficult part being the matching of the skin tones.
