Electric powered motor bikes, also called motorcycle bicycles or simply LEV from “light electric vehiclesâ€, are personal transport vehicles designed like standard bicycles, but powered by electric motors.

What started in 1897 as a double electric motor-powered bike, an idea coming from Hosea W. Libbey of Boston, has been improved in time, and now we can look at the A2B electric powered motor bikes, designed and created by Ultra Motor, a worldwide leading provider of innovative urban transportation solutions, headquartered in London, UK.
The new bike was introduced recently at Interbike Expo in Las Vegas, after Ultra Motor decided to offer its customers in the United States an enhanced solution for personal transportation as an alternative to cars. This idea came up after the Smart Transport Survey revealed that 80% of the North Americans are prepared to receive new methods of transportation such as electric bikes, smart cars and hybrids, which are all considered to be the vehicles of the near future.

A2B electric powered motor bikes use the standard household current for recharging the battery, just like cell phones and laptop computers, while they are economic, quiet and stylish, enough to compete with cars. The new electric powered motor bikes are lightweight thanks to the aluminum construction with full suspension, and provide oversized seats for maximum comfort while riding.
They are capable to run automatically for up to 20 miles at their normal speed of 20mph, but if you make an upgrade, they can reach 40 miles using a secondary battery pack. More than that, you have the option to add baskets and rear carrier bags.
Coming in blue, gray and white, the A2B electric powered motor bikes has a price of around $2,800.

“Alternative transportation offers many clear benefits and it is evident that people are ready for change,†said Chris Deyo, CEO of Ultra Motor USA. “Whether they’re headed to the office, college campus or running errands around town, commuters will find that our A2B electric bikes will fill their transportation needs without emptying their wallet at the gas pump.â€
