NASA has presented several lunar vehicles over the years, but all of these could only fit 2 or 3 persons. If we ever get to build bases on the Moon or Mars, how are we going to transport stuff or larger groups of people from one place to another? We need bigger vehicles. For this particular reason, NASA has just came up with a large vehicle design – the Moonstream.

<-234x60 Half Banner - left->Getting help from a young designer, NASA managed to adapt the sports utility vehicle design to the rough terrain found of the Moon or Mars. By scaling up the spidery walking legs of NASA’s ATHLETE rovers, the massive Moonstream is believed to be capable of slowly but smoothly traverse Mars’ uneven surfaces with a giant payload of people and hardware.
Moonstream is a sort of Godzilla compared to the Phoenix rover that landed on Mars a week ago. Moonstream’s pilot navigates from a separate, elevated pod at the front of the vehicle, while the rest of the crew can chill in the comfy main cabin, furnished with all the amenities you would expect in a Martian tour bus.

The designer explains that he was inspired by nature’s wonders, citing the turtle shells and the stance of giraffes as eloquent sources. But the image above doesn’t quite prove that. Moonstream appears to be some sort of giant DLP projector on wheels. Anyhow, this vehicle is supposed to be used in the near-future Moon and Mars exploration missions.

The good thing about the iPod craze is that other manufacturers were somehow forced to come up with interesting player designs in order to survive in this pretty dynamic market. Samsung’s S2 “Pebble†came as a true competitor for the iPhod Shuffle, while SanDisk Sansa threatened iPod’s supremacy. Newman also aims at providing some competitive products and the new COOL MAN player proves interesting designs can have a big impact on iPod enthusiasts.
COOL MAN isn’t that tiny, but one of its advantages is is that you can clip it on using a safety pin. It probably isn’t trying to match the S2’s or Shuffle’s size, but it is a sort of adaptation of the generic button pin. COOL MAN could even prove to be a good promotional device, with all those presidential elections going around.
Dubbed the “MP3 Badge″, the round player knows how to deal with WMA and MP3 files. Below the monochrome screen there are three nice buttons that remind me of a smile. Newman didn’t say anything about the storage space, but rumor has it that the player could be integrating at least 1GB of memory and should end up pretty cheap, even as cheap as a button.

People have become pretty preoccupied with finding ways of stopping pollution (kind of late, but hey, better later then never). Solar panels seem to be the way to go, but people will have to build entire fields with such devices in order to replace a single power plant. Well, not quite… The Japanese came up with leaf-like solar cells that might look a bit more natural on a field.

Yep, it’s the Japanese again, and this time they prototyped a foliage plant-like solar cell module by using organic thin-film solar cells. The prototype was developed by National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Mitsubishi Corp and Tokki Corp.
<-125x125 Button - left->I’m not sure if these are more efficient than the usual solar panels, but they at least look greener and supposedly don’t get that hot when directly exposed to sunlight. The organic thin-film solar cell consists of a plastic substrate, phthalocyanine layer, fullerene layer and some other complicated thingies you don’t want to know. Eight 7.5cm2 solar cells connected in series constitute about 60cm2 of active surface. AIST, Mitsubishi and Tokki are planning to further improve the durability of the module by sealing it with a very thin protective film to prevent the entry of water and oxygen.
AIST also aims at expanding the use of organic thin-film solar cells to the fields where design is important, such as architectural materials including walls and windows, clothing materials, wareable materials, leisure goods, outdoor products and toys. This way, things won’t get too shiny, but I wonder why they don’t mention anything about cars. They too could benefit from this technology, complementing well the electric-based engines.

You don’t have enough knowledge or ideas about creating a logo and you are in a big hurry and need to get a logo right away. You have the option to buy a nice logo for just $50 but you are still trying to find one for free. Yes, you’ve heard right, there are plenty of free online tools designed to help you in creating your logo but you start the applications and when you finish the design you just can’t save and download that logo because you just discover that it is not free at all. You have to pay for it first. They all let you play with these types of online applications but in the end no one gives you the logo for free, and here is where is come to help. I just found a nice tool, very easy to use to create a basic logo, and this one is 100% free so hurry up and create a logo for free! But first let me tell you what the steps are to see how simple it is and then I’ll show you the link to this website.

If you don’t believe it’s free then please read the website’s explanation for this and remember you can save and download up to 10 free logos. It’s very logic:
“So what’s the catch? There is no catch at all. Right now we are testing the market and working with one or two professional logo design companies to compliment our free logo maker software. If you need a custom logo design we suggest that you use our #1 partner The Logo Company. They will design you a completely unique and professional logo for just $149 with no hidden charges. The Logo Company also has well over a thousand client testimonials in their forum to prove they do what they say they do. On top of that The Logo Co also won a “best in test†trial conducted by the famous US magazine Wired!â€
To start and use this online application and create a logo for free first you have to register on the website and login. This takes about 1 minute and you can do this later if you like, right before downloading your logo, like I did.

<-180x150 Small Rectangle - left->Go to “start your logo†and in the pop-up window choose your image category. Here you have various sections, from Abstract and Eye, to Animal, Money and Religious. Let’s say I want Transport. I click on Transport and I receive cool images with motorcycles, planes, ships, and cars. I choose the large car because let’s say I have a firm providing transport solutions for everybody. I am sent to another place where I have options of adding text lines up to 5, change fonts, scale, rotate, change colors, delete and save. I’ll start with the text and I’ll insert the name of my firm – TransGo Solutions – with 6809 Chargen font, size 22, and 2 colors – TransGo in dark blue to suggest the sky above where airplanes fly and Solutions in dark green to make you think of the on-land transport.
Now I’m saving the logo and I am arriving in a new place where I see my logo history and several options: modify logo, add a testimonial, delete logo and download logo, along with the preview. I choose to download it finally. Because I am registered I receive the download link in a new email and surprise! I received not only the 275 X 275 JPG image but also the 400 X 400 JPG and a 600 X 600 file, so I have 3 dimensions I can play with. Same thing happens with the PNG and TIF I just received. And what makes me happy is that I got also the EPS, a version of the Adobe Illustrator Artwork file format so after I learn how to use the software I can improve the logo at a later time.
See how simple it was? Now it’s your turn to create a logo for free on Logo Ease.
