And here is the Part 2 of the discussion about the 15 Funniest Alarm Clocks, started yesterday.
In the first article I have presented you the Pillow Alarm Clock, the Throw Alarm Clock, the Puzzle Alarm Clock, the Grenade Alarm, the Disco Ball Alarm Clock, the Running Alarm Clock, the Book Clock, and the Police Alarm Clock.



The Giant Robot Flip Clock
Imagine this robot making a step every time a number flips.
It was designed by Michael Daniel in such a way to give you the impression it’s walking even if it stays in the same place on the rubber feet.
The Giant Robot Clock is 8 inches high and displays time in large numbers. It’s colored in silver and black and powers from 2 C batteries.



Laser Target Alarm Clock
If this would have been a top of funniest alarm clock I’d place this one on the first place. Why? Because it comes with the craziest way of waking you up. When it rings you can stop it only if you focus enough to hit the center of its target with the laser beam, not a bit out of it. You’d use the laser gun for shooting.

measures about 20 x 10 x 8 cm and powers from 3 AA batteries, while the laser gun uses 3 LR44 batteries.



Shake Awake Alarm Clock
This is similar with the Pillow Alarm Clock from 15 Funniest Alarm Clocks - Part 1 in the method it uses to wake you up but the previous clock used vibrations. The

uses a Bed Shaker vibration pad on a 2 meter – lead so it could wake up even the dead.
Let’s say that it’s destined only for those who even the loudest alarm ringing can’t wake up.
You have the possibility to set the shaker and then place it under your sheets, (Not pillow ok?) and it can wake up also the other person that sleeps in the same bed.



Flying Alarm Clock

featured previously here is another cool clock that starts to flying around the room when the alarm starts ringing and the only way to stop it is to get up from the bed and search the 5-inch propeller to place it back on the base.
It has a digital time display and measures 8.5 x 17 x 17.5 cm. To work it needs 4 AA batteries.



Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock
Another alarm clock with a very loud ringing is the Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock available on Boysstuff Ltd. It is said to ring louder than a jackhammer but it features adjustable sound volume if you can’t stand the maximum of 113 decibels, and more than that, it combines this functionality with the Shake Awake Alarm Clock’s by the small attachment fitting under the mattress. You can set 3 alarms: Buzz, Buzz + Bed Shake or only Bed Shake.
Other characteristics include night vision display and the pulsating alert lights.



Talking Dalek Alarm Clock
With the 8-inch Talking Dalek Alarm Clock things are simple. It’s a cool clock looking like … Dalek with flashing ears and eyes, who is set to shout “Exterminate”, “You would make a good Dalek” or “You are an enemy of the Daleks, you must be destroyed”.
The thing is that Dalek shouts these only if you turn off the alarm.
This cool robot has its origins back in 1964 when people saw it first time on BBC television and Skaro people created this clock with Dalek’s image 40 years later to remember of the Dalekmania.



Spy Mirror Wall Clock

is a stylish wall clock as you can see, and it was designed by Pieter Woudt to display the time and the space around on its surface.
It is made of a convex glass mirror with metal hands, which displays time as a reflexion in the mirror, with the hands barely visible.
If you place it in the right angle you can spy other’s movements in the same room or on a corridor, like in movies.
Measuring 30 cm in diameter and 3 cm thin it requires only one AA battery to work.

Microsoft’s multitouch Surface table looked like an improved iPhone display last year. The latest smartphones all come with something similar, but Microsoft took the design and further developed it, inspiring a bit from some existent technologies that don’t seem to get implemented anywhere.

MS has recently announced and demoed another multitouch platform, apparently much cheaper than the original $10k Surface. Dubbed TouchWall, the interactive screen is integrating three infrared lasers that scan the surface of a plexiglass board, and an infrared camera to account for anything that touches it. The MS demo you’re about to see shows a rear-projector, 4 x 6 foot plexiglass screen, and a basic Vista PC running the software application called Plex.



Although it’s considerably bigger than the Surface table, the TouchWall lacks the ability to recognize objects. However, it still allows you to scroll, zoom in and out, control different functions and draw on the display as if it were a whiteboard. MS estimates a total hardware cost coming in at just “hundreds of dollars”.

Strange enough, MS seem to have miscalculated something, and decided that the TouchWall is not to be turned into a commercial product in the near future. Considering this could end up way cheaper than current touch-sensitive technologies, it looks like a missed opportunity.

There are several gadgets indispensable for our these days life style and just to enumerate a few we have the cell phone, the watch, laptops, memory sticks, and for some, portable media players, but there is none of you that doesn’t use an alarm clock, right? We all have jobs to wake up for early in the morning or at least important appointments that we have to attend, from time to time, and the handiest device to alert us when the time has come is the cell phone that can be easily set to ring at that specific hour. If only all cell phones could play the alarm while being turned Off! I don’t enjoy unknown people calling me by mistake at 2 o’clock in the morning so maybe I would prefer to keep it turned Off and use an alarm clock which is specially designed for this kind of job.

Everything’s fine now that we know what to get but some of us have a problem with waking up in the morning and each of us need specific sound and intensity. We thought at this fact and managed to gather 15 of the coolest alarm clocks existent on the market. We called it 15 Funniest Alarm Clocks and you’ll see why.

The Pillow Alarm Clock
This alarm clock is designed for those that want to be woken up in the morning without disturbing the other in the same room. It is called the

Pillow Alarm Clock

because it’s flat and small enough at 90 x 70 x 13mm to fit under your pillow, and is meant to awake you discretely with vibrations. It features dual alarm setting, snooze button, buzzing/vibrating alert, temperature display, date, time, 12/24 time format, a green backlight, clock stand, keylock and a nice leather cover.

The Throw Alarm Clocks
About the ball-shaped clock we’ve talked before in one of our recent articles but it’s cool enough to mention it again in our collection.
It is specially designed for those that get really nervous early in the morning when the alarm rings and feel like wanting to throw away that stressing clock that just doesn’t want to stop ringing.
It has the shape of a ball so you can throw it as fast and as much as you want because even when it hits the room’s walls it doesn’t break. And actually this is the only way you can make it stop ringing. It is made of resistant and slightly flexible vinyl, and shows the time, the date, while you can set the alarm on the LCD display. You can also choose between several ball shapes - Cricket, Golf, and Football Special Edition Silver or Normal – and it also comes with a circular stand which prevents it from falling off the desk. The Puzzle Alarm Clock
Even if in the picture is a child’s hand this doesn’t mean it’s designed for little children only and we believe it’s a funny alarm clock even for older children and those that still feel children.

solves the problem of getting your butt out of bed fast.
When the alarm rings, the 3 jigsaw puzzle pieces shoot out and to stop the ringing you have to solve the puzzle assembling it back.
It measures 18 x 11 x 4 cm and is powered by 3 AA batteries.

The Grenade Alarm
That’s more an alarm than a clock but you could use it just to have some great fun by placing it near a sleeping friend. It gives you the chance to play the role of an alarm clock yourself. For that you have to pull the pin and yell “Fire in the hole!!!” then leave

near your friend and run. He will wake up instantly at the loud sound that blasts out and will be able to stop it only by placing the pin back in.

It was designed by a smart engineering student with great sense of humor that wanted to give the sleeper one chance to wake up at the set hour. If he/she hits the snooze button and goes back to sleep then the clock gets really inpatient and starts to run around the room until he/she catches it.
The good thing is that it allows you to set the snooze time that can be of up to 9 minutes after which it starts to run away.
It measures 14 x 9 x 9 cm, is powered by 4 AAA batteries and has the following features: you can drop it from 3 feet height, can run on wood and even carpet, shows the low battery warning, flashes when beeping or running, has a random alarm beep pattern, and has the ability to disable its wheels.

The Book Clock

is cool because it looks like a set of real books but with integrated discrete clock hands. You could say it looks funny or stylish, both versions making it a great clock for room decoration.
Its stainless steel hands are moving on reinforced heavyweight card and paper, and you can choose between the three-color model and the classic black one.

The Police Alarm Clock

This clock

imitates the sounds of police sirens and the specific spinning blue light when its alarm rings.
It is 6-inch high and shows the time and alarm on an LCD display.

The gadget assistant is dubbed MEMENTO Memory LifeBook and is designed as a "wearable mobile product solution" to serve as a multi-faceted holistic mobile memory, which also makes for an intuitive aid device as well as providing a security safeguard for elderly individuals with mild-to-moderate dementia.

It features a User-Centered design approach that allows the elderly demented users to manage their lives more effectively and efficiently by providing them with the confidence and ability to carry on their day-to-day living independently. The MEMENO is able to effectively manage all sorts of daily aspects in a person’s life, including maintaining contacts, reminiscence, effecting everyday routine tasks, keeping track of appointments, and keeping close to medication routines among others.

I guess they can make something similar for forgetful persons and senile old dudes.
