The next big thing for LCD displays is to incorporate some sort of 3D technology that improves the overall experience as far as sight is concerned. Some of the current solutions make use of special stereoscopic goggles and other such gimmicks, but Samsung is ready to make some changes to the displays themselves in order to create a more immersive 3D environment.

Samsung already announced a 46-inch Multi-Layer Display LCD last year, but that was just a prototype and the Koreans didn’t really mention anything about a commercial model. Now, Samsung says that the first MLD models should be hitting the market relatively soon. The technology itself consists of building displays that are in fact two or more layers of LCD panel that share a common back-light source. This way, a depth effect is achieved, letting you enjoy more visual content on a single screen.
This technology is actually patented by PureDepth, a company that has already signed agreements with Samsung for development of displays in mobile handsets and Sanyo for mobiles, gaming solutions and automotive electronics (including in-car navigation).
The first MLD displays are rumored to be released with the next generation of cellphones from Samsung. Furthermore, PureDepth is also planning to release a series of TVs based on this technology.

At first glance it looks like a painting mounted on a wall but if you have the chance to see it in real, meaning to be in the room and see it live you’d realize it is actually a fireplace.
It is an amazing fireplace created by Safretti and it’s called Gaya.

You can mount it on a wall and the subtle fire will change your room environment completely and forever.
Safretti is a famous fireplace design company that creates amazing pieces of art like Gaya which was inspired by the image of ancient Egyptian hallways.
The superb fir flames contrast with the stainless steel profound black background and you wouldn’t have to worry about the danger because the 7.1kW heat emitting bioalcohol is made especially for this type of fireplaces and doesn’t cause any risk of burning.
Gaya measures 73.5 x 62.5 x 15 cm.
