Smartchef is one of the finalists at NextGen PC Design Competition that started in 2007, finishing this year, and is meant to become the best technology solution for people who spend considerable time in the kithen, their or at restaurants.
You wouldn’t have to be a Chef at the restaurant to need Smartchef because it comes with all the features that help improve your lifestyle, health and cooking skills. You’ll see it is a complete portable PC concept for this specific use and is able to transform even laziest people into expert cookers.

Smartchef Concept

This computer concept has two parts: the mart cutting board of 13 x 20 x 3 inches on which you cut the ingredients and the portable tablet measuring 8 x 9 x 1 inches which you can carry with you wherever you go.
But let’s get to the most important part of the story – what you would use Smartchef for.
In the morning you and your life partner have a plan about what you could prepare for the Saturday dinner when you celebrate 2 years since your first date. You already made the invitations so you know that some of your guests are vegetarians. You’ll have to satisfy both sides.

Smartchef Concept

Smartchef’s touch-sensitive tablet is ready to show you tens of recipes you can choose from and you like them all because you have selected them last night from its database on the Internet.
Now you have to choose again depending on a few factors like number of calories contained in the ingredients and maybe change some of them or mix more recipe versions to create the best foods for Saturday.

Smartchef Concept

After this step you go to the market place to buy what you need to prepare the foods and Smartchef will be there with you to show you details about each vegetable or meat type you buy, even the country where it grows and what other vegetables it is related with. It knows that you are on diet for a month and can recommend you what to replace with what in order to create a delicious recipe that doesn’t affect your health, increase the cholesterol and disturb fat equilibrium.
Back in the kitchen now! Place the tablet on the cutting board and follow the cooking instructions step by step!

Smartchef Concept

Ooops! The cutting board’s sensors detected that the chicken meant is too fat. Smartchef tablet displays the number of calories and other details and recommends you to remove the fat on the margins.
Now you’re done and you know also how a few food arrangements that look good to impress your guests.
Don’t worry about the desert if you don’t have enough free time to cook it before Saturday, because Smartchef will take care of it too. It connects wirelessly with the cooking machines and knows when to stop the heating in there and alert you to come and get it.

Smartchef Concept

If you loved the foods don’t forget to share the recipes with the other friends over the Internet connectivity!

Weather Watch

Time is pretty much related to weather, at least in England. The people over at Oregon Scientific took this idea and implemented it into an interesting gimmick – the weather watch.

oregon-scientific-weather-w.jpg

They say nine out of ten people start a conversation by talking about the weather. Now you can accurately inform your friends about the weather just by checking the forecast on you watch.

The watch features large digits that allow you to easily keep track of time, while several different alarms make sure you’re up in time without getting bored of the same nagging sounds over and over again.

Summer is almost here and most of us prepare for trips and picnics and a watch like this could be very useful to keep track of the time and weather. It’s also a waterproof watch, so you can swim, surf or ride water jets without ever taking it off your wrist. It would be cooler if it could inform you on water temperature.

The weather digital watch will be available only in black flavors starting May for just £39.99.

SprinkLites

SprinkLites

Let’s decorate our rooms and gardens, especially gardens!
SprinkLites Color Changing Indoor Outdoor Accent Lights invented by Gary Hartz consist of an adjustable Illuminated Drip irrigation system with crystal clear acrylic sculptures of Butterflies, Dragonflies, and Hummingbirds.

SprinkLites

You can put them between garden plants, in the vase on the desk, on the Christmas Tree, and near decorative waterfalls, but they are not limited to that.
Even hotels and restaurants can use these small spraying sculptures to decorate entrance spaces and surrounding gardens.
The superb lights that bring so much life to the environment comes in 6 piece sets and are powered from a UL approved 4.5VDC 300 ms Outdoor Transformer or solar power.

SprinkLites

A SprinkLites set is available at $199.95 and you can daisy chain three systems together.

Cool Alarm Clocks

Cool Alarm Clocks

<-125x125 Button - left->
I want to present to you two alarm clocks meant for two different types of people: those that get mad when woken up by the alarm in the morning and those that are hard to be woken up and need some help.
The first one is called the “Throw” Alarm Clock and is specially designed for those that get really nervous early in the morning when the alarm rings and feel like wanting to throw away that stressing clock that just doesn’t want to stop ringing.

Cool Alarm Clocks

It has the shape of a ball and you can throw it as hard and much as you want because even when it hits the room’s walls it doesn’t break. And actually this is the only way you can make it stop ringing. It is made of resistant and slightly flexible vinyl.

The 10.2 cm “Throw” Alarm Clock shows the time, the date, and has an LCD display on which you can see the alarm settings. You can choose between several ball shapes - Cricket, Golf, and Football Special Edition Silver or Normal – and it also comes with a circular stand which prevents it from falling off the desk.
Boysstuff Ltd offers it at a price of £9.95.

Cool Alarm Clocks

The other model is the Flying Alarm Clock that provides the most annoying wake up method in my view.
It is available at Otherlandtoys at £13.95 and is one of the craziest gadgets I’ve ever seen!
Imagine that you switch off the alarm when it rings and go back to sleep. The clock starts to fly allover your room hitting things and you have to go out of your bad, find the propeller somewhere in the room and put it back on the base.
This searching will give you enough time to wake up completely and realize you have to go to your work.

Cool Alarm Clocks

The Flying Alarm Clock has a 5-inch propeller top, digital time display, settings buttons and measures 8.5cm x 17cm x 17.5 cm. It is powered by 4 AA batteries.

Top 20 Most Useless Gadgets

“Some gadgets are really useful but this poll proves that many of them end up being a waste of money,”said Chris Winstanley, spokesman for Revoo. “Reading genuine reviews can tell you if a gadget or gizmo is likely to be the best thing you ever bought or something that gets stuck in a cupboard and forgotten about within a week.”

Top 20 Most Useless Gadgets

And these are the top 20 most useless gadgets in Britain:

20. Back scratcher – This could be useful if you don’t practice body mobility exercises.

11. Trouser press – Let’s say we all prefer steam irons.
10. Electric carving knife – It really doesn’t have to be electric.
9. Electric fluff remover – Maybe a good solution.

Top 20 Most Useless Gadgets

8. Egg boiler – Useless because you can just drop your egg in there and leave it until it’s boiled. The egg surely won’t get sad if it’s not sustained.

6. Fondue set

Top 20 Most Useless Gadgets

5. Foot spas – Wouldn’t it be better a hand massage?
4. Soda stream – For those that like to make bubbles, probably…

3. Electric candles – Who knows why they are considered useless! I prefer these instead of my house in fire.
2. Laser guided scissors – Imagine your hand shaking while cutting with this scissor trying o follow the laser beam!
1. Electric nail files – Which would better fit dog’s nails.
