BitDefender wins VB100 Certification. KAV Fails the Tests

As many of your were probably expecting, BitDefender is in the top of the best anti-viruses, together with NOD32, F-Secure Anti-Virus 2008, Grisoft AVG and McAfee.
The bad news is that my favored antivirus, Kasperski, has failed the test because it didn’t find a specific virus during the full scanning.

Because of this failure the ramous program has lost the VB100 certification, but it is not alone in this, being accompanied by other complex programs such as Avast and Avira AntiVir.

The VB100 award was introduced in 1998 becoming widely recognized within the industry, and the anti-virus products participating at this event must detect all In the Wild viruses during both on-demand and on-access scanning, and to generate no false positives when scanning a set of clean files.

The scope of this innovative device is to allow visitors in museums or different exhibitions to access a comprehensive source of information about specific items with no stress and as quick as possible.
The handheld exhibit guide is designed as a classic looking glass capable of overlaying information onto live onscreen video taken from its rear-facing camera.

With the use of supplemental multimedia commentary, the person can choose to explore specific details of items.
A mesh of sensors is localizing each Docent device and records permanently the exact location and the proximity to items.
The video overlays are synchronized by the internal piezoelectric micro-gyroscopes.
Unlike the existent user interfaces that have a limited available options or overwhelm the user with a deep hierarchy of content menus, the Docent Personal Exhibit Guide works by combining the video camera display with RFIG-based identification of physical objects to allow the person to select items of interest through a combination of inference and explicit selection.
