You all are welcome to criticize what is wrong and say what you like.
Mohammed Smith, I'd like you to suggest funnier alarm clocks that you believe they would be a better choice instead of the pillow clock and the ball model.

Actually I was one of those kids that argued with the teacher about every single answer on the test, whether or not I got it wrong. I was one of those so called "know-it-all" kids, and I regret it. However, I can't change the past.

I wasn't actually referring to your comments as the hateful ones. There is one specific one ("Chris you are gay"), but I was speaking more in generalities. I also have no problem with your original correction of his spelling, however I believe it was most likely a typo and he will not be learning anything from you correcting him. My remark about the criticism was in regards to you correcting every person that had a spelling or grammar mistake in their comment about the entry. You definitely have the right to make these corrections, as no one in their right mind could stop you with free speech on your side. I just find it superfluous is all.

I don't see it as criticising. Rather, I see it as help. Personally, I LOVE being told if I spell something incorrectly. I don't like making mistakes, and the less I can make, the better. If this article was something like Wikipedia and had an edit option, I would have quietly fixed it. That option wasn't available, so I mentioned it to the writer of the article. Correcting spelling mistakes should be a learning experience, not hate, and my posts have no hate. Now, really, I didn't think this grammar thing would be drawn out so far. When you were a child and missed a question on a test, did you slap the teacher for marking it wrong? Probably not. You would recognise your mistake and remember it for next time, so you wouldn't make it again. Why can't we do that for grammar mistakes?

First of all, I'd like to say I disagree with the title of the page. While some of the clocks are funny, I'd have to say they are not the funniest clocks you could have chosen. The pillow clock isn't funny at all, the ball isn't really funny - but it does seem like an interesting idea. I'm not going to go one by one and disagree with each clock chosen, I think I'd be wasting everyone's time. Instead I'll join the fight for grammar and spelling. I think it's a little bit more fun anyways...

Many people do not realize that words are spelled different in other English speaking countries. One that was left out was armour. Shoppe is another good example, but most American's have seen it. Analog/analogue, enquire/inquire, this list could go on forever. However important I believe grammar to be, (and apparently someone else believes it too) I do not believe that you should go so far as to criticize an internet article about a single misspelled word. I do agree that most Americans are dolts, but we don't really need to have the entire comment section about this article be ragging on each other or correcting grammar/spelling mistakes. Can't we all just focus on the content of the article and post our thoughts instead of concentrating on the syntax and posting hateful remarks?

If people would start by not defacing the page with horrible grammar, nobody would feel the need to correct it. It's really a shame that people cannot even learn their native language.

I'm sick of blog post comments. Every time I read a post, value of the post is instantly let down by the comments. Maybe someone has something useful to say rather than being so far up their own arse that they feel the urge to deface the comments page correcting people’s grammatical skills.

Great post by the way. I am awful at getting up, maybe one of these with solve my problem?
